New to the ram sale is Megan Roberts. She’ll be putting her social media skills to good effect to help promote the ram sale and also to support Jane Smith.
Megan is based in Monmouthshire and is an equine specialist, with a particular interest in natural horsemanship. And she’s also building up her own small flock of Lleyn sheep at her parents’ home.
Looking forward to becoming more fully involved in the ram sales, Megan feels there are lots of opportunities to spread their importance via social media.
Megan adds: “It’s important to spread the word about farming in general and specifically sheep farming in Wales. It’s not just the rams and the farmers at the sale, they benefit all of us.”
Executive Director, Jane Smith, says: “I think Megan will be a great addition to our very small team and I look forward to working with her over the next few years. She brings a new dimension to the promotion of the sale through social media.
“We need to stress the importance of the ram sale, despite the added competition from many multi breed ram sales in existing markets, where overheads are considerably lower. We hope to continue to attract the top quality rams to Builth, where the buyers have multiple breeds to choose from and can meet their needs in one day.”
