Ram Sale Blow

Following the news that Kelso Ram Sales will not be going ahead, the NSA Wales and Border Ram Sales organisers have offered support. The Border Union Kelso Ram Sale has announced the cancellation due to public health concerns and the nationwide effort against the disease.

The NSA Wales & Border Ram Sales took the decision to cancel the early and main ram sales at the Royal Welsh Showground in the beginning of June. Organisers have since launched an online register of rams as a free service to vendors and buyers.

NSA Wales & Border Executive Director Jane Smith said: “We’re really saddened by the news this morning that the Kelso Ram Sale organisers have also had to cancel due to the Covid-19 regulations. It’s obviously been a very, very hard decision for them to make, as it was for us.

“We feel it probably vindicates our decision of a few weeks ago and we look forward to being back next year with our sales and to see all our customers and vendors. Meanwhile we’re working with the industry to help facilitate sales.”
