Strong Show of Rams for the NSA Wales & Border Main Sale

All roads will lead to the Royal Welsh Showground and the NSA Wales and Border Main Ram Sale on Monday 20th September, with buyers spoiled for choice.
Organisers say 3,800 top quality sheep from across a range of breeds are to be offered for sale. The figure is just 10% down on the number entered for the last sale in 2019.
Executive Director, Jane Smith, said: “The level of entry reflects the huge amount of confidence in the sale. “There has been so much uncertainty with Covid, that for people to enter such a large number of sheep eight weeks in advance of the sale shows a huge confidence. We’re delighted that we are, restrictions allowing, able to underpin that confidence with the veterinary inspection of all rams. “It’s a wonderful boost that so many long standing consignors have entered batches of as many as twenty or thirty rams. So often, ram producers say that it simplifies their selling season to bring a big number to one easily accessible venue.”
Most of the usual sheep breeds will be represented at the sale. There is an increased number of Bluefaced Leicester and a chance to bid on the Dutch Spotted, which will be holding its society sale at the Royal Welsh Showground for the first time.
The usual Tup Taxi service will be available, but buyers are asked to be aware of new parking arrangements this year. Parking will be on the Horse Hill, with parking and direction signs along the route.
